CCWWP supports Canadian academic and writing culture that respects writers of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. CCWWP advocates for the safety and well-being of members of our organization, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, ability, or age, particularly where power imbalances can result in abuse or misconduct. CCWWP supports a climate of equity, respect, and fair treatment in professional contexts and in other institutional and non-institutional settings. [ADDED] CCWWP recognizes a history of colonial, patriarchal, and racist power that existed—and still exists—in institutional dynamics, and is committed to working toward intersectional equity in these contexts. CCWWP also values the principles of recognition and respect in relations with First Nations, and the findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
